Today, we wanted to discuss a few things that you can do to make sure that your lawyer is indeed one that you can rely on when it counts.

Chances are you may have come across the lawyer you are considering by searching the net, going through publications, or you may have even received some recommendations for them. However, just because you’ve got a name or a firm of immigration lawyers that you’re considering doesn’t mean that’s where the research stops.

You should dedicate your time to finding out more about them. What are their credentials like? Are there any bad reviews? Further research can help you determine the answer to these questions.

Have a Conversation

Sometimes, your gut can let you know if something is a good fit or not. When you’re thinking of getting the services of a particular lawyer or firm, it would be good to try and have a conversation with them. You can call them on their hotline or schedule a preliminary meeting.

See if the lawyer picks up on the details of your case and give you an idea that they can actually help you. If something sounds too good to be true, you should be wary.
